In the photo above, local ranchers are seen making last minute efforts to drill winter wheat at the Chambers farm north of Nashville on Thursday evening in anticipation of the much needed rain that the city received over the weekend. The rain began on Friday, and the burn ban over Howard County was lifted. Over the last three days, Nashville saw about four inches of precipitation after only receiving three-tenths of an inch of rain over the past nine weeks. Many area ranchers are already feeding hay.
