Maria Susana Santos Salgado de Castro passed away in Bogata, Colombia, South America on October 18, 2015. She was born June 22, 1926 in Facatativa which is near Bogata.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Julio Cesar Santos and Susana Salgado de Santos; husband, Jacob de Jesus Castro Gomez ,and a son, Ignacio Javier Castro Santos.
Maria Susana is survived by two daughters, Gabriela Maria del Pilar and husband, Chesley O. Nunley of Nashville, Juanita Inés Castros Santos and husband, Alfredo Reina Andrade of Orlando, Florida; two sons, Antonio José Castro Santos and wife, Paola Bonfiglioli of Bergamo, Italy and Julio Cesar Castro Santos of Bogata Colombia; one daughter-in-law, Maria Victoria Lenis of Girardot, Colombia; seven grandchildren, Phillip Reina Castro, Tiffany Reina Castro, Kimberly Reina Castro, Maria Fernanda, Maria Susana Castro Lenis, Alberto Castro and Diego Castro; one great-grandchild, Visnieta Maria Antonia Veloza; one sister-in-law, Ruby Suarez de Santos; stepmother, Helena Fajardo de Castro of Bogata; best friend, Stela Rios of Bogata and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Maria Susana Santos Salgado de Castro will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, November 2, 2015 at St. Martin’s Catholic Church, 1011 Leslie Street, Nashville. Mamita, I will miss you, of course, but I know that you are free now. God has called you home. I thank you for all the joy and happiness you brought to me, and especially for my wife, Pilar. She is wonderful and the joy of my life.
