AKANSA Chapter of DAR to celebrate Constitution Day

web constitution day proclamationHot Springs Village, Akansa Chapter, DAR, will honor the 228th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution of the United States beginning Thursday, September 17, 2015 through Wednesday, September 23rd.
Churches have been asked to participate in “BELLS ACROSS AMERICA” by ringing steeple bells, hand bells, glass bells, brass bells, wooden bells, jingle bells at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 17th.
Akansa Chapter members will offer support and assistance for an educational program in our local schools.  (Schools receiving federal funds are required per federal-spending bill, Public Law 108-477 to offer instruction on the U.S. Constitution each September 17th.)
DAR members will have a display at the Fordyce Bathhouse on Bathhouse Row in Hot Springs beginning Constitution Day.  Visitors may sign a replica of the Constitution to honor our most treasured document and ring the Freedom Bell.
The Hot Springs Village DAR Chapter meets the first Saturday of each month from September through May at the Good Samaritan Campus Chapel.  Contact Nancy Luehring at 501-915-9022 for membership information.
