TRUCK FIRE AT GAS STATION … Coming from Amity with a load of peaches in the back on Monday, a Cove resident was returning home when witnesses began to smell a strong odor of gasoline at the Caddo River bridge on Hwy. 70. According to Glenwood Police Chief Randy Reid, the man pulled off into the Valero Big Red parking lot where his truck soon became consumed with flames. “Nobody was hurt was the main thing,” said Reid, who also noted that the flames complete totaled the vehicle quickly. The man was insured and there was some small smoke damage to the awning over the gasoline pumps. Reid also denoted that that in her haste to get away from the flames, a woman at the gas pumps ran into one of the large awning supports and damaged her vehicle.
