Glen Sanders, age 84, of Bonnerdale, died Wednesday, August 19, 2015.
He was born on July 2, 1931 in Hot Springs, the son of Myrl Henry Sanders and Christine Siratt Sanders. On July 3, 1948, he was married to Betty Jean Weston Sanders who preceded him in death on June 6, 1997. He was also preceded in death by his parents; his step-mother, Margaret Sanders; his brother, Jimmy Sanders; and his sister, Shirley Gibson.
He graduated from the Law Enforcement Academy and worked for the Hot Springs Police Department in the 1960’s. Later he joined the local Plumbers and Pipefitters Union and retired from the Nuclear One facility in Russellville and Arkansas Power & Light.
He is survived by three children, Alicia and Dennis Petty of Bonnerdale, Debi Roden of Charleston, South Carolina and Kim and Toni Sanders of Lakeland, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Lacey Ward, Christopher Teague, Kayla Sanders, Troy Sanders and Kimberly Sanders; three great-grandchildren, Maycee Ward, Elyse Teague and Nolan Teague; his half-sister, Sandy Matlock of Bismarck; and his half-brother, Edward Sanders of Bismarck.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 23, 2015, in the Peak Cemetery with Bro. Scott Vaughn officiating.
Visitation will be Saturday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Troy Sanders, Kit Teague, Seth Barentine, David Barentine, Teddy Short and Matthew Heibert.
