Bobby D. Blackmon, age 82, of Hot Springs, went to be with his Lord on Friday, August 21, 2015.

Bobby was born in Glenwood on April 12, 1933 the son of Charles Blackmon and Georgia Coffman Blackmon.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and his grandson, Jordon Eva.

His family moved to Hot Springs soon after his birth and made it their home.  He was Baptist in his faith and attended First Freewill Baptist Church of Hot Springs.  He graduated from Hot Springs High School in the 1952, where he played football and participated in track meets.  His love for football was well known and he took pride in his accomplishments, including three years as All State Running Back.  He proudly served in the United States Navy.  After many years Bobby retired from the Southern Pacific Railroad; then owned and operated his own paint and body shop for years.  He was a kind man, would help anyone and never met a stranger.  Bobby loved and treasured his family and would do anything for them.  He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his seven children and sons-in-law and daughter-in-law, Lisa and David Gray of Hot Springs, Angie Keils of Fort Worth, Texas, Tina and Tim Merriweather of Little Rock, Alainea and Alex Ditto of Lonsdale, Bobby and Michelle Blackmon of Missoula, Montana, Gayla and Shawn Houston of Billings, Montana, and Jan and Dan Yokum of Portland, Oregon; twelve grandchildren, Alisha Oseguera , Branson Cobb, Chantel and Carlos Raigosa, William Keils, Angelica Keils, Karmell and Donte Jones, Xavion Merriweather, Xerin Merriweather, Alex Ditto, Aleah Ditto, Hannah Houston and Preston Houston; four great-grandchildren, Savannah Raigosa, Carson Raigosa, Liam Walker and Aniyah Jones; one sister, Charlene Hill of New Hope; one brother and sister-in-law,  Louie and Millie Blackmon of Indio, California; several nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends.

Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, August 29, 2015 in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs.

Visitation will be just prior to service from 1:00 PM until service time.
