Cogburn ObitToney Cogburn, age 81, of Daisy, died Tuesday, July 7, 2015.

He was born on May 17, 1934, in Glenwood, the son of Leslie Cogburn and Nettie Huggins Cogburn.  On January 15, 1955, he was married to Faircie O’Neal.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his great-grandson, Michael Andrew Cogburn; two brothers, Dewell Cogburn and Doyle Cogburn and his wife, Anna Mae; and two sisters, Charlene Morrison and her husband, Jay, and Bonnie Ball.

At the age of 19, he began his ministry as a Pentecostal preacher and pastored churches for over 30 years.  He was the pastor for many years at Midway Pentecostal Church near Kirby.  He was a retired logger and truck driver and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Faircie Cogburn of Daisy; four children and their spouses, Brenda and Glen Moss of Glenwood, Debi and Tim Dickison of Kirby, Dwight and Lisa Cogburn of Daisy and Lana and David Bradshaw of Daisy; one brother and sister-in-law, Jessie and Dollie Cogburn of Glenwood; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Linda Adams of Bonnerdale and Edith and Trillis Montgomery of Glenwood; fourteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 10, 2015 in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. Billy Thomason and Shawn Moss officiating.

Visitation will be Thursday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Interment will be in the Mount Tabor Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Robert Adams, Tim Cogburn, Myron Cogburn, Billy Carl Cogburn, Anthony West, Corey Cogburn, Jake Vaught and Chris Huggins.
