MURFREESBORO – Officials with the Crater of Diamonds State Park have announced the addition of Betty Coors as the newest park interpreter.
A North Little Rock native, Coors worked for 15 years as a dental assistant in North Little Rock, Fairfield Bay and Russellville while raising her son and daughter. In 2009, she graduated with Cum Laude honors from Arkansas Tech University and earned a bachelor of science degree in recreation and park administration, with an emphasis in interpretation and a minor in anthropology.
Coors began her career with the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism in 2006 at Lake Chicot State Park, in Lake Village. While attending Arkansas Tech, she also completed a college internship at DeGray Lake Resort State Park in Bismarck. For the past five years, Betty served as the traveling seasonal interpreter for Arkansas State Parks Program Services.
She began working in her new position at the Crater of Diamonds in late June.
