I wanted to share this picture of me and my Grandma. When I think of big events in ones life that make a huge impact, this is one of them. I have always felt different from everyone else and ever since I can remember, I have felt God’s presence and Jesus calling. I know God gave me my Grandma and Papa to help me grow in His grace, to do what’s right, forgive when you don’t want to, give until there’s nothing left, work hard, put forth your best, love unconditionally and to trust Him always even when you don’t understand.
My Grandma peacefully drew her last breath at our home in her bed the morning of July 2, 2015 after we finished listening to a Biblical audio of Philippians 1. I had just watered all the flowers outside her window and was putting on my shoes to go for a walk. Just a week before, June 21 was her 85th birthday. Our family gathered to celebrate by singing Amazing Grace and then we prayed over her while my son read the most powerful beautiful prayer. Her cancer will cause no more pain. She is loved eternally. We don’t know when it’s our time, but it’s never too late to accept Jesus into your heart until you are gone.
Please come 1:00-3:00 on July 26, 2015 for refreshments and celebrate her life at The Haddan House on Main St. 406 E. Runnels, Mineral Springs, Ar. 71851 (870-287-4191). Her ashes will lay rest at The Mineral Springs Cemetery beside my Papa, L.M. “Frog” Mendenhall.
