Steven Joe Parker, age 42, of Newhope, died Sunday, June 7, 2015. He was born on September 4, 1972 at DeQueen, the son of Joe Ellis Parker and Peggy Ruth Martin Parker. He was a licensed real estate agent and certified refrigeration technician. He enjoyed gardening and was an accomplished cook. He loved to prepare meals for everyone whether it was grilling outdoors or in the kitchen. He loved to learn and would read on many different subjects. He always did for others and his last unselfish act was as an organ donor. There will be many who are helped by this fact. He is survived by his parents, Joe and Peggy Parker of Newhope; two sisters, Christy Young and her husband, Travis, of Ashdown and Michelle Parker of Amity; his niece, Cassie Young of Ashdown; his nephew, Tyler Young of Ashdown; and many other family members and friends. Private services are scheduled. The family would like to thank all first responders, emergency personnel and law enforcement officers for their assistance these past days.
