NASHVILLE – A late-night stroll resulted in an arrest for a narcotics related charge just after midnight Wednesday.
According to statements made by the Nashville Police Department, Ronald Allen Morris, of Mineral Springs, was observed walking near the intersection of Howard and 6th Streets in Nashville near midnight by city officer Chris “Droopy” Gates. Gates reportedly stopped Morris and requested his identification, and asked Morris if he had any narcotics on him. Morris allegedly provided his identification and consented to a search of his person.
Gates reportedly found a cigarette pack in Morris’s pants pocket which contained a glass pipe with a white residue that is suspected to be methamphetamine.
Gates placed Morris under arrest for felony possession of drug paraphernalia and transported him to the Howard County jail. While booking Morris into the county jail, records indicated that Morris had absconded from parole, and was also booked on a charge of violation of parole.
Morris is being held in the Howard County jail on a $5,000 bond.
