Maxine HinesMarjorie Maxine Hines, 89 of Bentonville, Arkansas passed away, Monday, June 22, 2015 at her residence in Bentonville surrounded by her family. She was born May 14, 1926 in Nashville, Arkansas to Virgil F. and Alta Rhea Hooks McCauley.
Maxine married Benjamin Gee Hines on August 31, 1947 and worked faithfully in each community where he pastored. She was an educator in every sense of the word, not only working side by side with her husband in the United Methodist Church but also teaching Home Economics in the public schools in each of the towns where they served. She was part of the group who created “Challenged Children Curriculum” for the Little Rock School District. She is credited with starting the Dorcas Ministry in 8 United Methodist churches. She was on the Board of Directors for the Bentonville Women’s Shelter, instrumental in the development of the Women’s Shelter Thrift Store, a Stephen Minister, a member of the PEO Chapter Cl, a mentor for Havenwood families and was always active in the United Methodist Women’s Organization.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, The Reverend Doctor Benjamin Gee Hines; one son, David Gee Hines and wife, Susan of Edmond, Oklahoma; one daughter, Susan Kennedy and husband, Pat of Bentonville; four grandchildren, Ben Bogle and wife, Sarah of Sandestin, Flordia, Erin Easley and husband, Jason of Gravette, Scott Hines of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Megan Gaines and husband, Zac of Edmond, Oklahoma; five great-grandchildren, Brittney Easley, Lukas Easley, Harper Gaines, Tatum Gaines, Annie Gaines; and many, many dear friends that were touched by Maxine’s beautiful life.

Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M., Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Stockdale-Moody Funeral Services in Rogers.
Funeral Services will be at 12:00 Noon, Friday, June 26, 2015 at First United Methodist Church in Bentonville with the Reverend Dr. Kurt Boggan and the Reverend Rex Dickey officiating. Burial will be in the Bentonville Cemetery.
