SHERMAN – Linda West, 67, of Sherman, passed away Friday, June 5, 2015, at her home with her family by her side. She was born on December 18, 1947, to parents Thomas and Thelma (Hughes) Woodley. She was raised in Murfreesboro, Arkansas and moved to Dallas after graduating from Murfreesboro High School in 1965. She was a supervisor for the Postal Data Center in Dallas. This is where she met and married her husband of 44 years, John West, on November 23, 1970. The family moved to Sherman in 1984, where she became assistant store manager of the Sherman Braum’s. Linda’s most special moments were playing with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing bingo with friends, visiting casino’s, visiting family in Arkansas and especially her annual sister trips.
She is survived by her husband John, of Sherman, her sister Pat Sweeden, of Murfreesboro, Arkansas, daughters Jennifer Shrum of Sherman, Michelle Carney and husband Johnny of Denison, grandchildren Trevor Shrum and Emily Carney, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held on Monday, June 8, 2015, at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Pleasant Home Cemetery Fund at P.O. Box 120 Murfreesboro, AR 71958-0120.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Della Langley, Shirley Campbell, Peggy Stewart, brother Butch Woodley.
