NASHVILLE – Howard Memorial Hospital will receive a $7,500 grant later this month to aid in equipping the geriatric behavioral health clinic currently under construction on the hospital campus.
According to HMH Foundation Director Amelia Moorer, the funds, which were awarded by national cost management firm MultiPlan, Inc., will be used to purchase supplies and additional training for the facility’s activity director, something that was overlooked when initial plans were made for the new addition. Moorer said the representative who informed the hospital they had received the money told her its proposed use played a major role in their selection.
“He was actually on the board to select who received the grants and said the group as a whole was excited it was something for the elderly,” she explained.
The hospital applied for the grant May 1, received notification they had been selected late the same month and is expected to receive the funds themselves June 26.
