MAGNOLIA – A total of 366 student completed their academic programs and earned a college degree at the Southern Arkansas University Spring Commencement ceremonies held on May 8.
From this area, the following students were recognized: Tesla Gills, of Nashville, an Early Childhood Education major who graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor of science in education degree from the college of education; Kaylee Jones, of Nashville, an early childhood education major who graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor of science in education degree from the college of education; Aurora Romo, of Mineral Springs, a social work major who graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor of social work degree from the college of liberal and performing arts; Adam Wall, of Nashville, a marketing major who graduated with a bachelor of business administration degree from the college of business; Raisa Whisenhunt, of Dierks, an early childhood education major who graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor of science in education degree from the college of education; Brian White, of Dierks, an early childhood education major who graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor of science in education degree from the college of education; and Gwenita White, of Nashville, an early childhood education major who graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor of science in education degree from the college of education.
The college also announced the names of 272 students who made 4.0 GPAs to qualify for the president’s list following the spring 2015 semester.
From this area, the following students were recognized: Katee Kitchens, of Dierks, a senior early childhood education major; Raisa Whisenhunt, of Dierks, a senior early childhood education major; Brian White, of Dierks, a senior early childhood education major; Zachary Wilbur, of Dierks, a senior political science major; Iris Holmes, of Mineral Springs, a senior social work major; Ricardo Romo, of Mineral Springs, a senior engineering/physics major; Tesla Gills, of Nashville, a senior early childhood education major; Sydney Hughes, of Nashville, a sophomore biology: pre-health major; Kaylee Jones, of Nashville, a senior early childhood education major; Brittany Shaffer, of Nashville, a senior early childhood education major; and Gwenita White, of Nashville, a senior early childhood education major.
The college also announced the names of 325 students who qualified for the dean’s list following the spring 2015 semester.
From this area, the following students were recognized: Aurora Romo, of Mineral Springs, a senior social work major; Nikita Harris, of Nashville, a senior biological science major; Gabriel Hill, of Nashville, a junior digital cinema production major; and Tamira Stewart, of Nashville, a junior psychology major.
To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must complete 12 or more semester hours and attain a grade point average of 3.50 or higher.
