Mrs. Idell May White, 77, was the youngest of seven children born to Minnie Atkins May and Minuen May in Clow, Arkansas on July 16, 1937.  She graduated from Clow Training School. Idell united in holy matrimony to Franklin D. White, Sr. and to this union six children were born. After marriage they moved to Flint, Michigan.  She attended Mott Community College and became a nurse. Idell accepted Christ at an early age.  She attended Bethel United Methodist Church in Flint. After relocation to Arkansas, she joined St. Luke CME Church and served faithfully until her health began to fail. She was preceded in death by her mother, Minnie; stepmother, Irene; father, Minuen; four brothers and one sister. She departed this life on Friday, May 22, 2015 in Ozan, Arkansas. Those left to cherish her memories are three daughters, Allen “Frankie” Johnson (Kevin) of Ozan Mary Frances Nunnery (Clem) of Flint, Michigan, Cernisa Reed (Greg) of Springdale; three sons, Franklin D. White, Jr. of Nashville, Sharvanta Lee White (Rosland) of Ozan, and Roderick Allen White of Brinkley; one brother, Minuen May, Jr. (Mary) of Nashville; four sisters, Bessie Faye McClenton of Desoto, Texas, Clarice Davis of Phoenix, Arizona, Gloria Owens of Little Rock and Shirley Williams of Dallas, Texas; 25 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; a special friend, James Henagan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that loved her in their own special way. Visitation will be held 11:00-5:00 pm, family hour will be 5:00-6:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, May 30, 2015 at St. Luke CME Church.  Burial will be at Gamble Cemetery in Ozan.  Arrangements entrusted to Hicks Funeral Home, Inc.
