Meet-and-greet will kick off Childress Reunion

class reunion lockesburg-WEB ONLY PICThe Childress Homecoming Reunion will be held July 3-5. The theme for this year’s reunion is “Then and Now.”
The class of 1965 will celebrate their 50th year class reunion and the class of 1996 will celebrate their approaching 50th class reunion.
Reunion goers are encouraged to dress in the 50’s, 60’s or 70’s, including hairdos from that era for the Friday night Meet and Greet, which will begin at 7 p.m. at the New Light CME church. Registration starts at 6 p.m. with the class of 1965 presenting the program. The class contact in Corliss Coulter Lews at 580-306-2916 or Lonnie Coulter.
Saturday morning parade through downtown Nashville is scheduled for 11 a.m. The parade will line up at the parking lot of the Nashville High School at 10 a.m. Hot dogs and the trimmings will be served following the event at the New Light CME Church. Parking is encouraged at the old Childress School site as well.

The Saturday evening Banquet will b held at 7 p.m. July 4 at the Nashville Western Sizzlin Restaurant, where the class of 1996 will provide the evening program. Contact Janice Scoggins Greent at 870-557-3578 or Evelyn Whitfield Keels 870-584-2771 for the class of 1966.
Sunday, July 5, will conclude the homecoming reunion with the closing program beginning at 12:30 p.m. at the Dodson Street Church of Christ. The Childress scholarship will be awarded at this time.
The reunion fee is $60 per person and includes a t-shirt, banquet ticket and scholarship donation. Call Geneva Neal Walton at 870-845-0250 for additional information or separate prices or to make a donation to the scholarship fund or other parts of the reunion. Additional help is needed for the picnic and the Sunday Meal which will be served after the closing program. Anyone is welcome to attend the next reunion planning meeting on Thursday, May 28, at 6 p.m. at the New Light CME church.
