 The Murfreesboro High School Band will begin
sponsoring several fundraisers
for Murfreesboro High School
Band Director Kira Staten.
Staten is the daughter of Jerry
and Donna Harwell of Nashville
and she is married to Michael
Staten, the son of Donnie and
Diana Staten of Murfreesboro.
Michael and Kira have two small
children.
Staten was hospitalized for
three weeks due to acute pancre-
atitis that occurred after the birth
of her daughter and was hospital-
ized for three weeks, and the fam-
ily has incurred many expenses.

A hamburger and hot dog
cookout including chips and
a bake sale will be held Sat-
urday, May 23 from 11 a.m.
until gone. The meal will be
served for donations and
more will be released as it is
finalized.
Donation jars are cur-
rently being placed in Mur-
freesboro and Nashville.
