dove with cross rightGlen Edward Hendrix “Ed” was born September 5, 1949 in Mineral Springs, Arkansas. He found rest on April 29, 2015 following a brief illness at St. Vincent Hospital of Hot Springs, at the age of 65. Glen began his education at Tollette Training School and graduated in the year of 1967. He was a loyal and dedicated employee. He bonded with many employees before retiring from the Arkansas Highway Department. Confessing his life at an early age, he joined Flint Hill CME Church and later became a dedicated member of New Light CME Church. He served in various positions at New Light, including Sunday School Superintendent, a Steward, a member of the men’s choir and at one point as an usher. He is preceded in death by his mother, Murlee Piggee; stepfather, George Piggee; and sister, Murl C. Walls. Glen leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Cynthia Hendrix; three daughters, LaKesha (Christopher) Lewis of Houston, Texas, Carletta Robinson (special friend, Rodney Gulley) of Nashville and Yalonda (Harold) Scroggins of Nashville; one sister, Linda (James) Wilson of Marshall, Texas; stepbrother, Lester (Dorothy) Piggee of Jacksonville, Arkansas; aunt, Leader Pearl (Andrew) Piggee; uncle, Dale (Celo) Hendrix; brother-in-law, David Walls; four grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, two special friends, Rev. Don White and T.J. French; his church family and community friends. Visitation will be held 11:00 am-4:00 pm Friday at the funeral home, family hour 6-7pm Friday at New Light CME Church. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, May 9, 2015 at New light CME Church in Nashville. Burial will be at Sunset Gardens in Nashville. Arrangements entrusted to Hicks Funeral Home, Inc.
