Miss Willie Ann Abernathy, age 67, a resident of Nashville, Arkansas, died Thursday, April 9, 2015 at her home. She was born to Willie Acie and Margaret Ann Long Abernathy Lathrop in El Centro, California, on February 8, 1948. She was a member of the Assembly of God, and enjoyed word puzzles, and crafts. She was preceded in death by her father, and two siblings, Chester Lee Abernathy, and Julia Ann Abernathy. She is survived by her mother and step-dad, Margaret Ann and Andy Lathrop of Nashville, Ark.; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Thurman “Red” Pennington of Lockesburg, Arkansas, and Linda and Steven Hankins of St. Stephens, Alabama, two step brothers, Gary and his wife, Jacala Lathrop and Andy Jay and his wife, Christy Lathrop all of Nashville, Arkansas, a step-sister, Debra and her husband, Mark Moilan of Huron, South Dakota, one nephew, Justin Abernathy, four nieces, Mary Ruth Pennington, Sarah Ann Pennington, Sheresa Hankins, and Heather Abernathy, a great- niece, Stassney Brown and a great-nephew, Aaron Brown, a sister-in-law, Valarie Abernathy of Harvey, Arkansas, as well as other family members. Graveside funeral services for Miss Willie Ann Abernathy were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2015 in the Birta Cemetery, Yell County, Arkansas, with Bro. Archie Phillips officiating, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.
