wreck psdNASHVILLE – A local woman was severely injured Wednesday morning in a single vehicle accident on Highway 27 north of town.

According to information released by the Arkansas State Police, 29 year old Monique Jackson was airlifted to a Texarkana hospital following the accident, which occurred when the 2012 Ford Edge she was driving left the road after entering a curve and collided with a culvert in a ditch near West Side Body Shop.
Jackson, a 2003 graduate of Nashville High School, was given a 10 percent chance of surviving the injuries sustained in the crash, according to statements made by family members, but is reportedly “awake and responding to commands” at the present time.
Police stated that the investigation into what caused Jackson to leave the roadway is ongoing pending the results of a blood alcohol test.
