Lions rally in third to claim 21-0 win over Caddo Hills

mi mc baseball 1The Mount Ida Lions roared their way through an 11 run third inning as they coasted to a 21-0 victory over the Caddo Hills Indians.

The Lions eased out to a one run lead in the top of the opening frame thanks to Jesse Lowry. He hit a double and later scored to give the Lions the lead. Gavin Caldwell was able to slap a long fly ball for a Caddo Hills double, but the Indians were unable to move him around the bases.
The second inning was uneventful with neither team mustering any offense. Mount Ida shook themselves out of their daze in the third to the tune of an 11 run rally.
Cody Robertson started the scoring boon off with a solo homer. Dakota Barrett and Austin McAdoo reached base back to back walks before Hayden Bishop crushed a pitch for a double. Ten different Lions would score before the end of the inning with McAdoo scoring twice.
Seth Powell tried to get something going for the Indians in the bottom of the third with a single, but failed to score.
The Lions added two in the fourth and seven in the fifth to win the game in five.
The Lions also faced Magnet Cove in conference play, falling to the Panthers 3-0.
