Kathy GaitherKathy L. Gaither, age 65, of Glenwood, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2015. She was born on December 9, 1949 at Bend, Oregon, the daughter of Albert Lee Allen and Lorene Wright Allen. On April 9, 1977, she married Ted Gaither.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Kathy was a Christian in her faith and was owner and operator of the Pizza Shack for over 35 years. She was an avid fan of all sports, playing basketball in her high school days. No matter the sport, if her children or grandchildren were playing, she was there supporting the team, either by cheering, coaching or working in the concession stand. Kathy was a second mother to many young people and her home was always open to them. She gave unselfishly and bled Caddo Hills Indian blue until the very end.
She is survived by her husband, Ted Gaither of Glenwood; three sons and their spouses, Stacy and Nikki Vines of Amity; Greg Vines of Austin, Texas, Eric and Amber Gaither of Glenwood; one daughter and her spouse, Jennifer and Chuck Beck of Mountain Home; fifteen grandchildren, Anthony, Alix, Jaci, Aspyn, Austyn, Evan, Parker, Rylee, Reid, Carson, Hagen, Alee, Cameron, Zoey and Xander; one brother and his spouse, Ronnie and Rhonda Allen of Black Springs; one nephew and his spouse, Jeremy and Tara Allen of Black Springs; and one niece and her spouse, April and James Bright of Bonnerdale.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 25, 2015 in the Caddo Hills High School Gymnasium with Bro. J. B. Evans and Bro. Alan Cansler officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Visitation will be Friday evening, 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Patrick Vines, Shannon Davis, Corky Deaton, Cory Smith, Greg Walker and Bryan Walker. Honorary pallbearers will be Darlene Featherston, Vickie Horn and the members of the HoopDawgs basketball team. Memorials may be made to the Susan G.
