handcuffsNASHVILLE – A Nashville man is under arrest after an early morning traffic stop Sunday resulted in the discovery of suspected methamphetamine in his vehicle.

John Brian Young, 46, was reportedly stopped by Nashville police officer Justin Garner around 2:30 a.m. on Bishop St. for not having a working license plate light. According to police statements, Garner became suspicious of Young’s behavior during the stop, reporting that Young acted “very nervous and wouldn’t sit still.” Garner reportedly asked for consent to search Young’s vehicle, and was allegedly granted permission for the search.
That search reportedly turned up a small scale as is used in narcotics transactions in the floorboard behind the truck seat, and a pair of loaded syringes wrapped in a glove set in a toolbox resting in the bed of the truck.
Young was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia and is being held at the Howard County jail. Bond had not been set for Young as of press time.
