Local AG&FC officer to speak at Mount Ida Chamber of Commerce Banquet

Game and Fish Officer Greg Rae will be the feature speaker at the 2015 Mount Ida Greater Chamber of Commerce Banquet to be held Thurs., April 16, at Lake Ouachita Baptist Church located on Highway 270 E.

The annual banquet will honor local citizens and organizations who contribute to the success and growth of Mount Ida and Montgomery County. Awards will be presented to Woman of the Year, Man of the Year, Business of the Year, and Non-Profit of the Year.

Rae, a Captain of Law Enforcement Operations for District A3 of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, is a long time resident of Mount Ida. He started his law enforcement career as a member of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office in 1989. From there he went to work for the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission in 1995.

While working for the AG&FC he has worked his way through the ranks and now oversees a seven county area in the Ouachita Mountain Region.

He holds a criminal justice degree and is a recent graduate of the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Va. He is the first AG&FC officer to graduate from the FBI Academy. The academy trains officers from 200 law enforcement professionals from across the nation and 25 countries.

The chamber of commerce banquet will begin at 6:30 p.m. Thurs., April 16. Tickets are $20 each and tables of eight and 10 seats are available for purchase.
