DIERKS – The Dierks Lady Outlaws took a big win against the Horatio Lady Lions Monday afternoon in a game that was decided almost from the first.

The Dierks team posted the first five runs, all in the bottom of the first inning, as Kyla Hill ran in on a fly ball to right from Melanie Kesterson, Alexis Simmons was advanced to home on a walk, Madison Burgess came in on a fly to center field from Kyla Kompkoff, Kesterson was brought in on a center field fly from Adrianna Walston and Lily Woodruff came home on an error.
The Lady Lions were held off by Simmons at the mound until the top of the third, when they were able to make a single run. Simmons was able to force strikes on her first pitch exactly two thirds of the time.

The score remained unchanged until the bottom of the fifth, when Hill was advanced to home on a walk. The next run came in the sixth as Woodruff was brought home on a grounder to short, which effectively ended the game, final score Dierks 7-1.

The same day, the Dierks Outlaws fell to the Arkadelphia Badgers 11-3.

The Lady Outlaws are next scheduled to face the Springhill Lady Bears Monday, April 2, while the Outlaws are set to face off against the Cossatot River team on Tues., March 31.
