After a lengthy illness, of 762 Cardinal Street Camden, Arkansas passed away quietly March 26, 2015, at her home with her family at her side. LaDon was born the daughter of Daniel Harold Ward and Lois Louise Ward on April 6th, 1939, in Hope Arkansas. She grew up in Bodcaw, AR, in rural Nevada County, as a member of Union Baptist Church. LaDon attended Bodcaw School where she excelled in sports as a member of the Girls Junior and Senior Basketball team. She was active in the local F.F.A. (Future Farmers of America Sweetheart), and well known throughout the region as a singer and pianist, performing at churches, county fairs, and other venues.
In 1957 LaDon met and married Carl A. (Amos) Dorn. They moved to Springhill, LA where they lived for a time before eventually settling in Bastrop, LA where LaDon worked at Howard Brothers Pharmacy. She later served at Snyder Memorial Museum in Bastrop as Representative of the Louisiana Tourist Commission.
In 1982 LaDon married Jimmy C. Jester of Dierks, AR, moved to Camden, AR where she joined Victory Assembly of God Church, and served as a praise team leader for a number of years before moving to Amity, AR. and Co-founding with her husband Omega Ministries. LaDon served as Co-pastor of Omega ministries until health issues forced her retirement in 2009. In addition to her music she enjoyed gardening, painting, and bird watching.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her Husband Jimmy Jester of Camden, AR. Her brother Rodger Ward of Bodcaw, AR., and her sister Harlia Cox of Falcon, AR.
She is survived by her sister Pamela Jones of Bastrop, LA., three children, Michael Dorn, (daughter-in-law Leslie) of White Hall, AR., Inga Thomas (son-in-law Brett) of Camden, AR., and Holley Dorn of White Hall, AR. Five Grandchildren, Hannah Thomas of Camden, AR., Judah Thomas of Camden, AR., Ariel Dorn of Reno, NV., Tyler Jones of Bastrop, LA., and Paul Dorn of White Hall, AR., And two great grandchildren.
Pallbearers: Cricket Ables, Don Davis, Jessie Ellis, Bill Epperson, Mike Faulkenberry, Tom Hartley, John Knight, Lee Nowlin, Keith Nutt and John Ward.
Honorary Pallbearers are her Brothers-in-law: A.T. Cox, F.E. (Elmo) Dorn, Mark Dorn, Eddie Jester, Jerry Jester, Thomas Jester, James C. Jones and Derwood Mayo.
The family would like to thank Ouachita County Medical Center Hospice for their dedicated service to our Mother during these last two plus years. We would also like to express our deep appreciation to Crystal Noyes and the other special caregivers who worked tirelessly to provide the best care possible. Special love and affection to her Grandaughter Hannah, who selflessly put her own life on hold for two years to take loving care of her Grandmother.
Visitation was Saturday March 28, 2015 from noon until time of service at Victory Church, Camden Arkansas. Services were held Saturday March 28, 2015, 2:00 p.m. Victory Church. Burial was in Union Cemetery, Bodcaw Arkansas.
